The caster uses this spell to contact an extra-planar being to ask them questions. This may be the caster's deity or some other powerful being. The dead are a common choice, but are usually restricted to information known during their lifetime. Ancestors are usually happy to talk to their progeny (+2 to reactions).

Exactly who or what the caster is contacting should be specified at casting time. The GM is encouraged to give responses colored by this. For example, if the caster decides to contact a demon or other maladjusted being, it may give deceptive answers that are technically correct.
