This must be combined with Area Effect or an ability with a built-in area of effect.

Instead of affecting a circular area, you affect a rectangular area.

For example, if Area Effect would have given a 4 yard radius, you could have a square with 4 yards to a side, a 2×8 rectangle or a straight line 16 hexes long.

If the particular shape of rectangle is fixed and must be decided when taking the ability, this is worth +25%. If you can vary the shape of the rectangle each time, this is worth an additional +5%.
