Faerie Circle
The Faerie Circle is a ring of small, red mushrooms with white spots, hidden somewhere in the forests of Medusa Island. Rumor claims the circle is visited nightly by faeries of all kind, including Brownies, Nymphs, Pixies and Quicklings. Occasionally, even Elves are involved in the rumors, most particularly Faerie and Sylvan Elves. Oddly enough, Sprites have never been encountered there.
The meaning of the ring and it's visitors are unknown.
The Truth
The real truth of the matter is that the circle is a meeting place for Sprites. They come together once a year, in late spring, to discuss matters of importance to them. They wear a different form to the meeting each year.
They've been stumbled upon during this meeting a few times by hunters, leading to the persistent rumors about the circle.
These Sprites can be incredibly dangerous if interrupted during this meeting. Those that bother them at this time are usually killed for their meddling and left to be devoured by the beasts of the forest.
The interior of the circle itself is a High Mana Area. The entire area within a quarter mile is Very High Sanctity for priests of faerie gods and High Sanctity for nature priests, like Druids.
