Occasionally, Illusionists help in the mines. They usually serve in an emergency response capacity, using their spells to save lives. They also provide minor assistance to the miners when they can via Create Floating Disc. They often heal injured miners on the spot using the Heal spell.
Wizard Eye is used for checking on miners trapped behind collapses, so that the other miners can dig in a safe fashion that won't injure their comrades.
When the miners break into an existing cavern with written materials, they use Tongues to read them and Mage Sight to check for magic items.
